Multi-function I/O card

MFIO-C6 is a multi-function I/O card in 6U CompactPCI form factor. This single slot solution offers broad I/O functionality that can be selectively mapped for individual requirements.

At the heart of the MFIO-C6 is a high-performance, low-power MPC8270 PowerQUICC II processor which supports integral BIT diagnostics, initializes interfaces and then manages I/O through a shared memory scheme in order to reduce host processor loading.

The concept of a network-attached I/O device is supported by the provision of two 10/100BaseT Ethernet interfaces, while serial ports allow connection to external peripherals and serial attached transducers. Discrete interfaces enable direct connection to real-world devices.

MFIO-C6 supports CompactPCI hot-swap mechanisms and provides a number of system-level functions such as an elapsed time indicatior, real-time clock, temperature sensor and a three-axis accelerometer that can be used as part of a "tamper detect" function. The architecture is also easily extendable to include alternate or additional I/O functions.

PMCD3

Multifunction PMC with Gigabit Ethernet

PMCD3 is a multifunction PMC with Gigabit Ethernet, serial, and Firewire (IEEE 1394) interfaces. This PMC supports three copper 10/100/1000BaseT ports and, optionally, two fiber optic 1000BaseLX or 1000BaseSX Ethernet ports. Three of the ports can be active at any one time. Two of the copper ports are routed to rear I/O, the third can be routed to either the front or rear (factory build option). The two optional fiber optic ports are routed through the front panel via fully rugged low-profile optical receivers.

Two fast asynchronous/synchronous serial ports are implemented via the Marvell Discovery III integrated system controller while two additional asynchronous ports are implemented via the dual UART.

A maximum of three Firewire (IEEE 1394) ports are available with two ports dedicated to rear I/O and, if required, a third routed to front I/O.

Dual CAN 2.0 controller on a single-wide PMC

PMC-ECAN-2 implements a dual CAN 2.0 controller on a single-wide PMC. It is used for a variety of industrial automation, process control, and automotive applications that require CAN 2.0 for field bus message communications. The PMC-ECAN-2 features two Intel 82527 CAN interface controllers. Both channels are completely independent. The Intel 82527 CAN controller supports both CAN specifications 2.0 part A (standard 11-bit identifier) and part B (extended 29-bit identifier). Two CAN physical interfaces are configurable for the PMC-ECAN: CAN High Speed and modified RS-485. They are both optically isolated from the CAN controller. Power is available via an on-board DC/DC converter. Front panel I/O access is provided via DB9 connectors. VxWorks device drivers are available for the PMC-ECAN. The module is compliant with standard single-wide PMC specifications IEEE P1386.1.
